BEWITAL opens logistics branch in Velen-Ramsdorf

The BEWITAL Group is further expanding its logistics capacities and is building a new, future-oriented logistics branch in Velen-Ramsdorf. In a currently unused industrial building on the Südring, a new location for parcel and general cargo logistics as well as a modern warehouse for BEWITAL goods is being built on around 18,000 square meters.

The decision for the location was a targeted one: The vacant property in Ramsdorf, just a few kilometers away from BEWITAL's headquarters in Oeding, offered good basic conditions - both in terms of spatial capacities and due to the favorable connection to the existing infrastructure.

Extensive work is currently underway on the technical building equipment and future furnishings. Parcel shipping will start shortly, followed by general cargo logistics in the second half of the year. In total, up to 30 employees will be working at the new location in the future: The vacant property in Ramsdorf, just a few kilometers away from BEWITAL's headquarters in Oeding, offered good basic conditions - both in terms of spatial capacity and due to the favorable connection to the existing infrastructure.

BEWITAL expects to ship over half a million parcels a year from 2026 - with a clear upward trend. The company also expects a strong increase in the volume of general cargo. The new logistics center in Ramsdorf creates the conditions to meet these requirements.

New technology for smart processes

BEWITAL relies on state-of-the-art logistics technology at its new location. AI-supported optimization software analyses and controls all warehouse and shipping processes. At its heart is a so-called digital twin, which simulates real processes in real time and thus helps to shorten transport routes, intelligently combine orders and dynamically adapt processes.new technology for smart processes

The digitalization of logistics is an essential part of the Group's strategic development. “The property in Ramsdorf offers us a good opportunity to continue growing as a group of companies,” says Tim Bonner, Project Manager and Logistics Operations Manager at BEWITAL. “The new branch is an ideal addition to the existing logistics center and was planned by us to be particularly smart and efficient from the outset - it is therefore also ready for the requirements of tomorrow.”

The “requirements of tomorrow” - by which Tim Bonner primarily means the increasing requirements in the parcel and general cargo sector - and the increasing speed with which goods have to reach the customer today. "Speed has become a key factor. Our specialist retail partners expect fast, reliable delivery - and we consistently align our processes here on site accordingly."

Strongly rooted in the region

With this investment, BEWITAL is strengthening its roots in the region, as Managing Director Jürgen Petershagen also emphasizes: "The decision for Velen-Ramsdorf is much more than a simple expansion of space - it is an expression of our long-term strategy: The new logistics location is in close proximity to our headquarters in Südlohn-Oeding, with which it is closely interlinked in terms of infrastructure and operations. This proximity enables short distances, quick coordination and a close connection to existing processes. With this new branch, we are creating another important building block for sustainable and long-term growth locally in Westmünsterland."
