Jannik Dempzin has known BEWITAL since he was a child. The big trucks, the facilities, and the unique atmosphere shaped his early impression of the company—partly because his father already worked there and now looks back on more than 35 years of service. This is how a close connection to BEWITAL developed early on. Today, Jannik has been part of the team for 11 years himself and has never regretted his decision—quite the opposite.
When Jannik was considering starting an apprenticeship after earning his vocational diploma, he came across the profession of process technician—without initially knowing exactly what to expect. Two trial days at BEWITAL’s pet food production facility changed that. “A lot of people have the wrong idea about this job—I did, too, at first,” he says. “But the job is totally modern. The systems are highly automated, most processes are digital, and machines handle the heavy lifting. Our job is to control the systems, monitor the processes, and make sure everything runs smoothly.”
Significant investments in modern technology
After completing his training, Jannik initially worked as a machine and plant operator. “They are the heart of production. With their keen sense of quality, raw materials, and technology, they play a key role in ensuring that products are manufactured to the highest standards,” he emphasizes. “It’s a job that’s often underestimated.”
His own path illustrates the opportunities for growth: Jannik graduated from a master craftsman training program, now works as a master of process technology in the milling and grain industry, and serves as one of the shift supervisors. In this role, he is responsible for production planning at his plant, which means he organizes which products are manufactured, in what quantities, and in which week—always in close coordination with production management. He has never lost touch with the machinery.
New plant, new opportunities
The expansion of the facility in Südlohn-Oeding with a new, state-of-the-art plant opens up new opportunities for both current and new employees.
